"Celebrating Hindi Diwas: Voices of Expression in the Heart of Mass Communication and Journalism"
"स्वागत एवं अभिनंदन: हिंदी दिवस के उपलक्ष्य में सभी विद्यार्थियों एवं शिक्षकों का हार्दिक स्वागत" by DEPARTMENT OF JOURNALISM AND MASS COMMUNICATION , LPU
As a senior in the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism at Lovely Professional University (LPU), I am thrilled to have been given the opportunity to organize and celebrate Hindi Diwas on 16th September 2024. This is my first experience taking on such a significant role, and the excitement of planning and leading the event is both an honor and a privilege. The chance to bring together students, faculty, and the wider university community to celebrate our national language fills me with anticipation and pride. Hindi Diwas is an important day for us all, as it commemorates the adoption of Hindi as the official language of India in 1949. It is a day that reminds us of the cultural and linguistic diversity that forms the essence of our country. Celebrating Hindi Diwas in an academic setting like LPU is especially meaningful because it provides a platform for students to reflect on the importance of language in communication, media, and journalism, which are key aspects of our field. As the organizer, my goal is to create an event that not only celebrates the beauty and significance of the Hindi language but also highlights its relevance in today's globalized world. We are planning a range of activities that will engage the audience, from discussions and debates on the role of Hindi in mass media to cultural performances that showcase the richness of Hindi literature, poetry, and music. There will be creative writing and speaking competitions, encouraging students to express their thoughts and ideas in Hindi, thereby promoting its usage and importance in everyday communication. What makes this experience even more special for me is the opportunity to lead my peers and juniors in a celebration that fosters cultural pride and unity. As a senior, it is a rewarding responsibility to mentor and guide the team, ensuring that the event not only runs smoothly but also leaves a lasting impact on everyone who attends. I hope to inspire a greater appreciation for the Hindi language among my fellow students, encouraging them to explore its depth and versatility. Hindi Diwas serves as a reminder that language is more than just a tool for communication—it is a reflection of our heritage, identity, and values. In an era where globalization often emphasizes the use of English and other languages, it is crucial to remember and preserve our linguistic roots. By organizing this event, I aim to contribute to this ongoing effort, celebrating Hindi as not just a language but a symbol of our cultural unity and diversity.
